Flavonoid from Chilean Propolis

Abstract
|
|
|
Propolis is a natural resinous substance produced by honey bees and used by them to strengthen their nest and was known to have significant biological effect including antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activity.
Form the EtOH extract of Chilean propolis, two flavonoid compounds were isolated by chromatographic separation.
The structure of these compounds was elucidated as pinocembrin and chrisin by physico-chemical and spectral evidences.
